Resistive panels measure pressure: two conductive layers touch where you press, so any object works — finger, gloved hand, stylus, even a pen cap. PCAP measures changes in an electrostatic field, so it needs a conductive input (bare finger or special capacitive stylus/glove), but it delivers true multi-touch and far better optics.
